World Autism Awareness Day

2nd April is observed as World Autism Awareness Day. Autism is also known as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). World Autism Awareness Day is an annual event which aims to increase awareness about what Autism is, as well as how we can support Autistic people in society. On this occasion, Rotary Salt Lake City Calcutta associated with Nibedita School for Special Children run by Institute of Child Health. The special day care school takes care of 43 children and involves them in various activities. Nibedita School for Special Children at ICH organised a programme to raise awareness on this vital issue. Dr Apurbo Ghosh, Director ICH was present at the inauguration. Our club felicitated him and handed over a cheque of Rs 20,000 to be used for the cause of the autistic children in any matter they deem fit.
