Rotary Rabindra Sarobar Unity Aid Womens Football Tournament at Tardah Gram panchayat on February18th , 2024
The tournament, held on February 18, 2024, at the Uttar Pratapnagar Football ground, aimed to provide a platform for talented young women from Tardah and neighboring areas to showcase their football skills. Despite economic hardships, the girls of Tardah have shown exceptional talent in football, with some even reaching the state level. Four teams, including the Tardah team, West Bengal Police, Duttapukur, and Gangasagar, participated in the tournament. After three intense knockout matches, the final between the Tardah team and the West Bengal Police ended in a draw, with the latter clinching victory through penalty shots. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic support from around 2,000 spectators, The Womens Football Tournament, a first of its kind in District 3291, received extensive media coverage .
