Mother And Child Heathcare Project
Rotary Club Of Calcutta Newtown has successfully conducted Mother and Child healthcare project on 24 th July which is a project that all Club’s in the District 3291 were requested to organise . Mothers and child joined in all the way from different Villages of Diamond Harbour. They all are talented women doing Zari thread work on the expensive beautiful sarees that women drape and also work on the field during harvesting of crops.
After self introduction, we spoke to the women about maintaining hygiene for themselves and their kids. A certified fitness trainer showed them and made them do the exercises especially for the spine as these women spend most of their time glued to the intricate zari work that they do, which eventually takes a toll on their neck, shoulder and spine. After making them learn the important exercise we served them lunch and handed over goodie bags .
