Seminar on Fish Hatchery

The RC of Kolkata Benevolence, in collaboration with the Prameya Foundation,organized a seminar on fish farming for 44 women at Jhorkhali, Sunderbans, on 23rd February 2024. The session included training on selecting fingerlings,proper nutrition,fish health & common diseases.The seminar focused on establishing a fish hatchery for local women,providing them with a source of livelihood by breeding & selling fish fingerlings. Our club is committed to guiding & supporting the establishment of this technology-based hatchery. Dr. Debtanu Barman,a renowned aquaculture expert & club member,conducted the session & will guide the hatcherys establishment. The clubs aim is utilizing in-house expertise to uplift the livelihoods of local villagers. Rotarian Nico Korswagen of RC of Ermelo-Putten,Holland as guest of RC of Kolkata Benevolence also visited & addressed the audience.
