HMC Rotary Blood Bank
The 1st Blood Bank in Rotary Dist 3291, the Presidential project of "Old No 1, was inaugurated by Arup Roy, Min. Govt. of W.B., alongwith Sujoy Chakraborty, Chairman, HMC, and PRIP Sekhar Mehta, RID Aniruddha , DG Hiralal , Pres. Kanak, and an galaxy of Rotarians from R C Calcutta & District Clubs. The facility is a fully digitized modern Blood Center, adjacent to the Thalassemia Childrens Transfusion Center, has a capacity of storage of 800 bags/month, and facility to upload data to the Govt Health Department on daily basis. The Centre is fitted with Storage & Plasma refrigerators, Centrifuge Mcs, Elisa Readers, etc. A Blood Transportation and Collection Van was donated by RC Salt Lake City to the Centre. This unique project, 1st of its kind in Dist 3291, will greatly benefit patients coming from neighbouring districts, simultaneously assist in blood collection from nearby places.
