Organic Farming

The Rotary Club of Kolkata Benevolence consistently advocates for ethical, sustainable, and indigenous farming practices. In line with this commitment, a practical workshop on organic farming was organized on February 11th at G Plot Island, Sunderban, in collaboration with the local community center, Ramdhonu. The workshop focused on creating various organic fertilizers and insect repellents using readily available items in village households. The club distributed vegetable seeds, including brinjal, ridge gourd, and okra, to farmers and housewives for their kitchen gardens, promoting a holistic approach to agriculture. Additionally, a small model kitchen garden was initiated to showcase the tangible benefits and results of embracing organic farming methods.
