Dishari Sewing Training Centre, Kalighat
RCCP open the doors to Dishari Sewing Training Centre in Kalighat, a free community skill development centre providing training in sewing, stitching and embroidery to women from this high-risk area. The training program, set up in collaboration with NGO Jadavpur Bondhu Collective, and including a 6-month certification course from Singer India, provides women with vocational training towards a sustainable livelihood and an alternative path to economic empowerment. At the end of the course, successful candidates will get “Skill India” certificates.
RTN Nabanita Khan is the Project lead and were helped by RTNs Aniruddha Bhattacharya, Nivedita Sanyal, Gargee Datta, Sarbari Ghose, Samita Sarkar and Utpal’s spouse Mou Pal.
