• Class VI, VII and VIII got the information about the constituents of air and the hands-on experiment to find the volume of oxygen in a certain volume of air by burning a candle on a basin of water covered with a glass. After the candle was put off one fifth of the total volume of glass was filled with water showing one fifth of a certain volume of air contains oxygen. When oxygen is consumed no burning is possible ie., oxygen only helps in burning even in a living system, where mainly haemoglobin carries oxygen during respiration. After such burning carbon dioxide is formed which can be consumed by Chlorophylls of plants to produce glucose which we get from plants. The maximum portion of air almost four fifth by volume is Nitrogen, and very small volume of carbon dioxide, water vapour and inert gases are there
