VIRANGANA WORKSHOP - Self-Defence Training for Girls
Virangana workshop for 22 Girls was held at 19/3 Masjid Bari Street, Kolkata. These girls are daughters of prostitutes from the infamous red-light area called Sonagachi. The trainer was Black Belt holder Mr. Anindya Banerjee belonging to the organisation, AIKIDO Martial Arts. Snacks and some gifts for the participants was provided by Calcutta Sun City. At the end of the training session Certificates were distributed to these participants. The girls were very excited to learn this technique of self-defence. Vote of thanks was given by Ms Rajasree Dey Roy, Associate Director of Mahima Ashaloy, an NGO working in red-light area.
