Observance of World Aids Day
1st December 2023 was World Aids Day. This Day was first observed in 1988 by WHO. The red ribbon is the global symbol for solidarity with HIV positive people and those living with AIDS.
The theme for this year was "Let Communities Lead".
RC Salt Lake City Calcutta was a co-host in a session on lifestyle management for HIV + persons organised by RC Calcutta Sutanuti in association with School of Tropical Medicine, Kolkata.
Patients and guests took part in the activity session with interest and anticipation.
Hopefully the stigma surrounding HIV dissipates and people realise that it does not spread through normal everyday contact.
