On 21st Nov Ms. Andrea Kuhn, Consul General of South Africa spoke on Growing together India & South Africa relations at the Taj Mahal Palace. The South African Indian community were first brought to South Africa as labourers in 1860. Their vibrant culture, traditions, and values added to the rich tapestry that is their multicultural society. India is one of South Africa’s top 10 trading partners. Total trade between South Africa and India is 12 billion US dollars. Around 180 Indian companies have invested in South Africa which has helped in combating the triple challenges of poverty, unemployment, and economic transformation and further contributed significantly to skills development and skills transfer in their country.
