Thalassemia Awareness talk to students of Tiljala Brajanath Vidyapith Co-education School
Rotary Club of Calcutta Sun City organized a thalassemia awareness program for school children of Tiljala Brajanath Vidyapith. Rtn. Ramendu Hom Chowdhury DG(N) was the main speaker on the subject. He explained to the students the causes, treatments and preventive measures of this dreaded disease. The socio-economic impact of this disease is unthinkable, hence eradication of this disease should be prime responsibility for all. In this area students can play the role of a crusader as they are the future of our country. Our club President also spoke on this occasion regarding healthy life style and healthy foods. The overwhelming response from students and teachers deserve special mention. RC of Calcutta Sun City promised to make tests for thalassemia free for 200 students subject to permission from their parents, for which club offered to have a similar session for the parents as well.
