Seminar on Eye Donation
International Eye Bank, kolkata arranged a seminar on importance of Eye Donation at the end "National Fortnight on Eye Donation" from August 25 to September 8. Rotary club of Calcutta Sun City was a Co-host of this seminar. This seminar was chaired by the President of International Eye Bank, Kolkata Shri H.P. Kejriwal. CEO Shri Malay Ranjan Ray spoke at length on the importance of donation of cornea among common masses. Non-medical forum like International Eye Bank started approaching masses to donate their healthy eye before their death so that within 6 hours of death technically trained workers can collect the cornea. Shri Subendu Gupta - Secretary talked about the need for more support from government and private Hospitals for preservation of cornea and development of Certified technicians who can extract the Cornea at the shortest possible time after death.
