Ganga Abhiyan Site Visit
As part of the Ganga Abhiyan project and as per the joint plan with Rotary Club of Calcutta (Rtn. Saumen Ray) and Dist 3291 (Rtn. Vinod Khaitan) visited the Ganga ghats in Ariadaha. The three hats visited were: D.D. Mondal Ghat/ Morhol Ghat, Ariadaha Ferry Ghat (adjacent to Burning Ghat) and Madhu Roy’s Ghat. The purpose of this visit was to check the condition of each ghat and find out what exactly is needed to improve the ghat condition and to stop erosion/ potential damage to these ghats and the nearby locality. 4 Rotarians took part in this activity. RC Calcutta North Suburbans RCC Members were also actively involved in the site visit. Rtn. Ranjan Basu prepared the detailed site visit report and submitted to Rtn. Saumen Ray for his groups use and reference.
