Long-term Economic Welfare Project for Tiger Widows and other financially disadvantaged women

Calcutta Pointers, in partnership with PEHS, organised a workshop on 20th Aug, aiming to start a Long-term Economic Welfare Project for Tiger Widows and other financially disadvantaged women. Members of the club met and interacted with ~ 20 women and a few men, who were brought by PEHS. It was a due diligence exercise, done to understand their plight and economic situation. The data collected would be used to design personalized plan for these beneficiaries. NGO Tagore Society for Rural Development, that works extensively in Sundarbans, also provided their expertise. At the end of the workshop, the women were given packets of assorted seeds for their kitchen garden.
