Rotary FUN FIESTA A WINTER CARNIVAL
a) The aim of this Project was to raise funds for future Projects and also to encourage women entrepreneurs of Small Scale and Cottage Industries by displaying and selling their products. Some women from the Madartala Slum Area were given stalls free of charge to sell their handmade products and food items.
b) A BABY SHOW for the children of the Madartala Area was conducted in association with the Inner Wheel Club of South West Calcutta
c) Smritikana Chatterjee Memorial Scholarship for Academic Excellence was given to 4 deserving underprivileged girl students. Cash vouchers of Rs.5000 from Allied Books, College Street, was given to each of the students.
d) Blood Group and Blood Sugar Detection Tests were conducted free of charge on the Carnival visitors by 14 students of the Microbiology Department of St.Xavier’s College Kolkata.
